Heritage Perth Heritage Day, on 15 November, 2009, celebrates our city’s history going back many thousands of years before colonisation.   All activities on Heritage Day are FREE and there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

30 FREE Activities Taking Place on Heritage Day

Heritage Perth Heritage Day, on 15 November, 2009, celebrates our city’s history going back many thousands of years before colonisation.

All activities on Heritage Day are FREE and there’s something for everyone to enjoy.    Join in the fun and explore the fascinating history and heritage of central Perth.

During Heritage Day you can:

  • Go “Behind Closed Doors” with tours of Perth buildings and have a ‘behind the scene’ tour of places like His Majesty’s Theatre the Concert Hall and Town Hall
  • Take advantage of the unique opportunity to go on a guided tour of the Old Treasury and Land Titles buildings on St George’s Terrace
  • Discover the long history of the Perth area through traditional Indigenous stories, dance and music
  • Visit the State Library there will be an exhibition of rarely seen old photographs of Perth and children’s activities will take placePiccadilly Cinema
  • Watch the classic Australia silent movie, The Sentimental Bloke, complete with live piano accompaniment, in the superb Art Deco surroundings of the city’s only working cinema, the Piccadilly in Hay Street.
  • ‘Meet the Gardener’ and join a tour of the historic Stirling and Supreme Court Gardens.
  • Go on a guided tour of the historic Centenary Galleries at the WA Art Gallery; learn about the French Renaissance architecture and the colourful history of the old Police Law Courts, including the resident ghosts!
