Heritage Perth is an independent, not-for-profit organisation dedicated to promoting Perth's heritage as an important cultural and economic asset.
The overriding aim of Heritage Perth is to cultivate a culture where every aspect of the city’s heritage is respected, protected and maintained by a well informed and concerned community that values heritage for its contribution to Perth’s ‘sense of place’
Although a relatively ‘new kid on the block’, Heritage Perth has already made a huge impact on the way people perceive the value of Perth’s heritage places. Through its innovative projects and high media profile Heritage Perth has significantly increased public awareness of the importance of heritage. This rise in awareness is demonstrated by the phenomenal success of Heritage Perth’s first Heritage Day, held in November 2009, during which 5,000 people participated in a wide range of heritage activities.
Heritage Perth Heritage Day, on 15 November, 2009, celebrates our city’s history going back many thousands of years before colonisation. All activities on Heritage Day are FREE and there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
