Although a relatively ‘new kid on the block’, Heritage Perth has already made a huge impact on the way people perceive the value of Perth’s heritage places. Through its innovative projects and high media profile Heritage Perth has significantly increased public awareness of the importance of heritage. This rise in awareness is demonstrated by the phenomenal success of Heritage Perth’s first Heritage Day, held in November 2009, during which 5,000 people participated in a wide range of heritage activities.
Heritage-listed residential properties have proved to be just as valuable an asset as similar non-listed properties, according to new research undertaken by the Australian Property Institute.
