There are some seats left for the ‘Connecting People, the Law and the Parliament’ talk to be held in the Parliamentary Library at Parliament House  tomorrow (26 February) – but get in quickly as the talk is filling up quickly.

Have you ever wondered about the origins of the Western Australian Parliamentary system, the purpose of the Black Rod or the Mace? There are three institutions situated in the centre of Perth that are rich in history and serve critical functions in our society and civic life, namely our Supreme Court, the Perth City Council and the people’s Parliament.

This talk will give people the opportunity to learn more about the history, roles and functions of Western Australia’s judiciary, local government and Parliament.

With a tour of Parliament House included participants will experience the Chambers at work, appreciate the operations of this important institution and the grandeur of this heritage building.
