About Us
Heritage is about the things from the past which are valued enough today to save for tomorrow.
Many will claim that Perth has virtually no heritage buildings left in its city centre, suggesting most of the older buildings were demolished in the 1960s and 70s to make way for the ‘concrete giants’ which now dominate the city skyline. Whilst it is true many of our older buildings have gone, there are still plenty left, most of which go totally unnoticed. One of the key objectives of Heritage Perth Inc. is to engage the public and raising awareness of Perth’s historic sites, showing how important heritage is as a community asset.
To demonstrate that Perth’s heritage places can find a role in today’s community without losing either significance or historic value, Heritage Perth has developed a range of exciting projects to help people enjoy the heritage of Perth and raise awareness of the city’s historic sites, actively promoting them as a community asset.

Although a relatively ‘new kid on the block’, Heritage Perth has already made a huge impact on the way people perceive the value of Perth’s superb treasury of heritage places. Through its innovative projects and high media profile Heritage Perth has significantly increased public awareness of the importance of heritage. This rise in awareness is demonstrated by the significant increase in enquiries the City of Perth receives for its various heritage incentives and the number of people attending heritage guided walks, talks, etc.
Heritage Perth operates exclusively within the boundaries of the City of Perth. Click here to view a boundary map.
